Power Enhancement of PV Array by Calcudoku Static Reconfiguration Technique

Large solar power parks are nowadays in great demand because the whole world is keen on more solar energy. Partial shading causes reduced power generation from the PV array due to mismatch losses. These losses depend on the strategy adopted for shading and relative placements of shaded modules within the array. The numerous static and dynamic reconfiguration techniques have been proposed in the literature to reduce these losses. In this work, calcudoku puzzle-based reconfiguration strategy for (6 × 6)PV is proposed. It is utilized in rearranging the usual TCT topology of a PV module. Thus, by rearranging the rows and columns separately, the proposed method aids in achieving uniform row current differences. Several shadow patterns (i.e. uneven row, uneven column, center, long& narrow, long & wide) are reviewed critically to determine the viability of the proposed scheme. Each shade pattern's response is studied using the I-V and P-V curves. The power output of the proposed topology is compared to current reconfiguration techniques, and the outcomes are contrasted based on GMPP, Fill Factor, and % Efficiency for the proposed topology. The proposed calcudoku technique exhibits improved power compared to previous reconfiguration methods.
