Online Monitoring of Induction Motor to Prevent Faults Through Internet of Things

The induction motor-(IM) contributes a major part of industrial production and its monitoring is important to increase its reliability and efficiency. This article develops several advantages of using the Cadio app for Internet of Things-based online IM monitoring to avoid unexpected failure to fulfill industry 5.0 standards. Remote control and monitoring of the motor can help to avoid unforeseen disturbances. Universally the IM is monitored for the exterior factors, such as temperature, humidity, and the interior parameters, such as current, voltage. If the machine is run with abnormal internal and external characteristics, the motor is connected to the Internet of Things and is set to shut off. Moreover, if the motor is operated above rated currents for long duration, where the IM is programmed to discontinue the operation automatically. Online operation and monitoring are available to predict temperature, humidity, voltage, and current under various loading scenarios. If the IM is operated above its rated current (6A) for long duration, then the machine is instantaneously shutdown or by using online platform the IM can turned off when abnormal parameters are identified. Therefore, to prevent unanticipated damage, the machine can automatically stop if it continues in an aberrant condition. Finally, the Internet of Things allows for the analysis of the motor's behaviour and performance in a variety of failure circumstances, guaranteeing the dependability of the induction motor in real-time applications.
