Performance Analysis of 8-Element Antenna Arrays with Nonuniform Distributions for Beamforming at THz Frequencies

This study extends a previous investigation on true time delay beam steering by analyzing 8-element linear antenna arrays. The performance of uniform linear arrays, minimum redundancy arrays, modified minimum redundancy arrays, and Golomb ruler-based arrays is evaluated. True time delay requirements and radiation characteristics are examined at various steering angles and across a wide frequency range for the different configurations. Key metrics such as half-power beamwidth, side lobe levels, and delay values are assessed, providing insights for designing THz systems based on specific application requirements.

Abstract

This study extends a previous investigation on true time delay beam steering by analyzing 8-element linear antenna arrays. The performance of uniform linear arrays, minimum redundancy arrays, modified minimum redundancy arrays, and Golomb ruler-based arrays is evaluated. True time delay requirements and radiation characteristics are examined at various steering angles and across a wide frequency range for the different configurations. Key metrics such as half-power beamwidth, side lobe levels, and delay values are assessed, providing insights for designing THz systems based on specific application requirements.
