Energy-Efficient Optimal Power Allocation in Cooperative NOMA Communication Systems
Cooperative Communication Networks (CCNs) can increase wireless channel capacity by leveraging spatial diversity. However, their performance relies on optimal resource allocation, including power allocation and relay selection. To enhance the achievable sum rate and spectral efficiency of CCNs, this paper presents Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA). A major challenge in NOMA is dynamic power allocation for uplink transmission. To address this, we proposed a Multi-Objective based Optimization (MOO) algorithm called Satin Bowerbird Optimization (SBO). SBO optimizes power allocation among multiple users to minimize outage probability, which is a critical objective function. By customizing SBO for multi-user scenarios, we can achieve optimal power allocation and reduce outage probability. The proposed SBO-based power allocation is compared to traditional methods without SBO, demonstrating improved performance in terms of outage probability and achievable sum rate.
