An Electromagnetic Fusion System for Simultaneous Measurement of Velocity and Conductivity

Flow measurement has long been a critical issue in the field of metrology, with substantial demand in industrial markets. This paper proposes a novel electromagnetic fusion measurement system that uses the principle of electromotive force and electromagnetic induction to measure both the velocity and conductivity of fluids. The system consists of electrodes, inductive coils, Helmholtz coils, and an excitation source. Through the nested deployment of inductive coils and electrodes, high- and low-frequency excitation is used to establish a primary magnetic field in the test area, enabling the measurement of induced and motional electromotive forces. A simulation experiment was designed, and the results demonstrate that the proposed electromagnetic fusion measurement system can measure both the conductivity and velocity of the test fluid on the same operational plane. This validates the feasibility of the sensor array design and driving method, offering a new approach to the measurement of conductive fluids using electromagnetic fusion techniques.
