The Effects of IT Strategy on Higher Education Institutions
The development of information technology (IT) is constantly innovating and always plays a crucial role in human life and behaviour. One of its significant roles is in the education industry, where technology helps run operations, transform teaching methods, and contribute to the overall success of universities and colleges. The utilisation of IT needs to be aligned with creating an effective IT plan or strategy, which can make higher education institutions more productive and competitive. This research aims to determine the impact of effective IT strategy implementation on the global ranking improvement of universities. This study compares universities' performance on certain ranks and quality factors before and after releasing IT strategy documents. The findings suggest that the sampled universities' performance improved after implementing IT strategies for certain quality factors. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for universities aiming to enhance their positions through implementing IT strategies.
