Integrated nanophotonic devices and architectures for high-speed optical computing and interconnects (Conference Presentation)
In recent years, the surging demand for data bandwidth and computational power, driven significantly by the rise of artificial intelligence, has accelerated the advancement of integrated photonics. The industry is increasingly focused on developing high-performance integrated photonic chips for optical interconnects and exploring the commercialization for optical computing. We give an overview of the progress of our work in the architectures, devices, and essential components crucial for high-speed optical interconnects and optical computing. We discuss potential future directions and challenges that must be addressed to fully leverage the benefits of integrated photonics for these applications.
