Results of the research. It has been proved that cognitive-behavioral therapy in sport CBT is a scientifically grounded approach to psychotherapy based on the change of maladaptive thought patterns and behavior. In the sports context, CBT is used to overcome anxiety before competitions, combat negative beliefs, increase self-control, and develop effective stress management strategies. The main techniques of CBT in sports are: 1) cognitive restructuring – identifying and changing negative automatic thoughts that interfere with performance. 2) Relaxation and mindfulness techniques – meditation practices, breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation. 3) Use of exposure techniques – gradual accustoming to stressful situations through imaginary or real exposure. CBT methods are of great theoretical and practical importance in sports training. They help athletes develop psychological resilience, improve concentration, and manage emotions during competitions. Foreign experience demonstrates the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in various sports, which makes it an indispensable tool for achieving high results.
