INFLUÊNCIAS FILOSÓFICAS E EPISTEMOLÓGICAS DE PAULO FREIRE: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE LITERATURA
For decades, the contributions of Freirean thought have been recognized not only in Brazil but also in other countries, with the book Pedagogy of the Oppressed translated into approximately twenty languages. This study aims to identify the philosophical and epistemological assumptions that contributed to the formulation of Freirean thought. To achieve this, the systematic literature review method was employed, with searches conducted between May and June 2024. The survey included works available on the CAPES Journal Portal, SciELO, and Oasisbr platforms, using specific descriptors combined with Boolean operators to refine the results. Additionally, inclusion and exclusion criteria were followed to ensure the quality and relevance of the articles, considering peer-reviewed publications from the last six years and in the Portuguese language. Regarding the results and conclusions, the review revealed that Freire's thought is remarkably diverse, incorporating influences from various philosophical currents, such as Christian existentialism, personalism, phenomenology, and Marxism, among others. The research highlighted how these different currents intertwine to form a robust theoretical foundation in Freire's work. Furthermore, it became evident that while Marxism played a significant role in shaping his ideas, other philosophical influences also crucially contributed to the development of his pedagogical and philosophical approach. The systematic review demonstrated that Freirean thought is not a mere repetition of existing theories but an innovative and critical synthesis of these influences, reflecting a commitment to social and educational transformation.
