Dynamic full-field optical coherence tomography (D-FF-OCT) to measure photosensitivity (Conference Presentation)
We present the first application of dynamic full-field optical coherence tomography (D-FF-OCT) to assess photoreceptor function in an ex-vivo macaque retinal explant. This non-invasive, label-free method adapts in-vivo signal processing tools for use in vitro, offering high-resolution imaging and metabolic activity analysis. A single light flash stimulated the retina, with 62% of photoreceptors responding, indicating significant cellular behavior changes that were different from the control. This technique shows promise for non-invasive evaluation of retinal samples and is suitable for therapy testing, paving the way for new methods in retinal disease modeling and treatment assessment.
