More than thesis. Specificity of the collaboration between student and professor in the diploma seminar in Philology studies

The aim of this article is to explore the dynamics of collaboration between students and supervisors during the seminar, considering both student needs and the potential for integrating innovative teaching methodologies, such as agile project management. The paper is structured into two main sections. The first section presents findings from surveys conducted among students of Romance languages and their supervisors at the University of X. These findings highlight the significance of factors related to organization of work and maintenance of motivation in determining the success of the seminar. Additionally, the comparison of responses between students and supervisors offers valuable insights into their collaborative efforts during the seminar. In the second section, we delve into three pivotal issues identified through the survey: student motivation, the lecturer's role, and work organization. By juxtaposing our survey results with existing literature, we analyze these issues and propose solutions aimed at effectively addressing student needs. Furthermore, we share our own observations derived from the application of agile project management methods in the diploma seminar of Linguistics.
