PYOGENIC GRANULOMA: A CASE REPORT AND BRIEF REVIEW OF ETIOPATHOGENESIS

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a non- specic conditioned gingival enlargement, that occurs as a reaction to a localized irritation or injury, without a specic underlying cause and appears as sessile or pedunculated growth which vary from deep red to reddish purple or pale pink in colour ranging from few millimeters to several centimeters, with more predilection to maxillary gingiva. After conservative excision, many lesions recur with the rate of 15.8% and gingival sites has more recurrence than other oral sites. In our case, we had observed recurrence of the PG after the initial excision, which was then treated with minimally invasive approach of Scaling, root planing and focusing on the curettage more, after which the lesion was completely subsided which was observed after total duration of 4 weeks after the minimally invasive approach with healthy sulcus depth, absence of signs of inammation and establishment of crestal bone radiographically without use of any biological mediators.
