INTRACRANIAL SOLITARY FIBROUS TUMOR PRESENTING AS MENINGIOMA: A CASE REPORT
Solitary brous tumor (SFT) is a rare clinical entity of mesenchymal origin. It generally affects the pleura but has also been found to affect central nervous system (CNS). When occurring intracranially, the symptoms are mostly non-specic and that of a space occupying lesions and are often misdiagnosed as meningioma. We present a case of 46-year-old male patient presenting with headache and vomiting. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) ndings were suggestive of meningioma. However, the histopathological ndings and immunohistochemistry ndings of the specimen after resection helped in diagnosing SFT.
