Holographic gratings based on liquid-crystalline polymer coatings
The concept of amplifying the photoinduced change in refractive index using liquid-crystalline polymers and their holographic applications are described. To enhance the photoinduced change in refractive index, highly birefringent LC polymers have been developed in the Raman-Nath holograms. In Bragg holograms, thick polymer films are designed, providing films with optical transparency and birefringence. Several approaches to achieving high-performance holograms are introduced.
