Recent advances in low-cost tissue oximetry: principles, technologies, and applications (Conference Presentation)

Tissue oximetry is widely used in research and is now gaining momentum as a tool for guiding medical interventions. Its growing adoption can be attributed to the low cost, ease of use, and portability of the technology. Several tissue oximeters are currently available on the market, with applications ranging from adult functional studies to neonatal neuromonitoring. In this presentation, we will explore the fundamental principles of tissue oximetry and discuss the core technologies enabling the development of cost-effective devices. The discussion will also cover recent advancements and various applications of low-cost tissue oximeters.
