Imaging biomarkers of ex vivo fallopian tubes for tubo-ovarian cancer detection (Conference Presentation)
Survival improves when cancers are detected early, but most tubo-ovarian cancers are detected at a late stage as there are no sufficient screening methods. We aim to develop tools for the detection of early and occult lesions in the fallopian tubes. This work uses a multimodal optical imaging catheter to examine surgically removed fallopian tubes to identify imaging biomarkers of lesions of interest. The aim of this project is to identify novel early detection strategies and potentially enable fallopian tube screening to support delay in risk-reducing definitive surgical procedures.
