The Role of Crypto Assets in the Traditional Banking System and Its Impact on Financial Stability
Against the backdrop of rapid digitization and technological innovation in the global financial system, cryptocurrencies, as an emerging class of financial assets, are exerting profound impacts on the traditional banking system. With the gradual refinement of cryptocurrency regulatory policies by governments worldwide, the traditional banking system faces the challenge of effectively integrating cryptocurrency assets while ensuring financial stability. This paper aims to explore the role of cryptocurrencies in the traditional banking system and their impact on financial stability. By analyzing the characteristics of cryptocurrencies, market dynamics, and their interactions with traditional financial instruments, the paper reveals their potential effects on the operational models and risk management frameworks of the banking system. Findings indicate that while crypto integration enhances payment efficiency and product innovation, its volatility and regulatory gaps threaten systemic stability. Policymakers must balance innovation with robust frameworks to mitigate risks.
