Nickel(II)‐Catalyzed Oxidative Homocoupling of Terminal Alkynes
The homocoupling of terminal alkynes is a key approach for constructing 1,3‐diynes, typically relying on copper‐based bimetallic systems. Herein, a catalytic system is developed based on nickel chloride, using 1,10‐phenanthroline as the ligand and air as the oxidant, which successfully enables the homocoupling reactions of various terminal alkynes. This reaction is characterized by cheap and stable NiCl 2 as catalyst, mild reaction conditions, and excellent functional group compatibility, demonstrating great potential for practical applications.
