PANDA polarization-maintaining fiber for tight-bend applications and reflow-soldering
A PANDA polarization-maintaining fiber is proposed with a mechanical monolithic and reinforcing outer layer on the cladding surface and a high-temperature-resistant coating, for applications requiring a tight bending radius of less than 5mm. The presence of a mechanical reinforcing outer layer and optimized optical characteristics for tight bending improves the mechanical reliability and lifetime of the fiber. The high-temperature-resistant coating exhibited minimal degradation in intrinsic characteristics even after reflow soldering.
