INVESTIGAÇÃO DAS TÉCNICAS CIRÚRGICAS PARA O BEM-ESTAR DE CÃES BRAQUICEFÁLICOS
ABSTRACT There are some surgical techniques aimed at the well-being of brachycephalic dogs, breeds known for their physical characteristics that predispose them to respiratory problems, particularly Obstructive Airway Syndrome. Thus, identifying the causes of this syndrome and the importance of clinical signs helps us reach a diagnosis and present a set of surgical techniques that can significantly contribute to the quality of life of these animals. Surgeries, such as rhinoplasty, staphylectomy, and sacculectomy, have been shown to be effective in reducing respiratory symptoms and promoting a more stable state of health. In addition, the work emphasizes the importance of raising awareness among owners about their responsibility in raising and caring for these dogs, in order to prevent future complications. Possible surgical complications are analyzed with the aim of improving surgical practices and ensuring safer care. By integrating surgical interventions with education and awareness, these techniques seek to promote long-lasting well-being for brachycephalic dogs, prioritizing their health and quality of life.
