Design of reservoir environmental monitoring system based on IoT technology
With the development of Internet of things (IoT) technology, a reservoir Environmental monitoring system based on single Chip Microcomputer was designed. The system aims to monitor the environmental condition of reservoir in real time and improve the efficiency of reservoir management. Compared with the traditional way of relying on regular staff inspection, the system can significantly reduce the labor and financial investment. By using microcontroller technology, the reservoir environment monitoring system can collect real-time data information such as water level, temperature and humidity, turbidity, and whether pedestrians approach. Additionally, an optical sensor is incorporated to measure the light intensity of the reservoir area. This optical data can provide valuable insights into various aspects, such as the growth of aquatic plants (as their photosynthesis is related to light), water quality assessment based on light absorption and scattering properties, and even the detection of potential oil spills or other pollutants that may alter the optical properties of the water. When the reservoir water level exceeds the preset threshold, the system will display, alarm, and simulate flood discharge operation through relays to ensure the safety of reservoir. At the same time, if someone approaches the reservoir, the system will immediately send an alarm and connect the phone via WiFi, allowing the phone to receive data information and alarm prompts in real time. The temperature, humidity and turbidity display and alarm are similar. In addition, the system has a round-the-clock monitoring capability to detect anomalies in a timely manner and provide early warning, thus significantly improving the efficiency and safety of reservoir management. At the same time, the system also has a strong scalability. Through long-term collection and arrangement of reservoir data, the analysis and visualization of reservoir data can be carried out, which provides convenience for future function upgrading and expansion.
