Hospital Volume and Quality of Care for Emergency Gynecologic Care
(Abstracted from Obstet Gynecol 2024;143:303–311) Gynecologic emergencies requiring hospital-level care can include ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion, and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and are associated with high levels of morbidity and mortality. Both pharmacological and surgical interventions exist for all of these, and optimizing treatment for each patient is crucial to the reduction of morbidity and mortality.
