Development of a Self‐Deploying Extra‐Aortic Compression Device for Medium‐Term Hemodynamic Stabilization: A Feasibility Study (Adv. Sci. 11/2025)
Low‐Risk Counterpulsation Therapy In article number 2412120, Thanh Nho Do, Adrienne Ji, and co‐workers introduce an innovative soft robotic device offering low‐risk, medium‐term counterpulsation therapy to support failing hearts. Using a natureinspired growing mechanism for minimally invasive deployment and hydraulic artificial muscles for aortic compression, it shows strong potential to improve outcomes for hemodynamically unstable heart failure patients.
