APPLICATION OF HYBRID AGENT-BASED MODELING AND SYSTEM DYNAMICS SIMULATION: COLLABORATION TO IMPROVE SUPPLY CHAIN RESILIENCE

This paper explores the application of a hybrid Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) and System Dynamics (SD) simulation to address collaboration within supply chains, focusing on evolving interactions between individual entities. By integrating ABM and SD, the model captures both the dynamic decisions of the collaborating entities as well as the decision-making processes of each individual. Using AnyLogic, the hybrid approach is applied to analyze supply chain collaboration and examine the consequences of disruptions in the primary suppliers. The findings indicate that the proposed model effectively captures supply chain entities' complex interactions and individual preferences. The results also show that the stability of collaboration between companies is impacted by disruption and the duration of disruption. The proposed model can be expanded to examine intertwined supply chains and assess the resilience of multi-player supply chains.
