The effect of different fit-indicating materials and preparation designs on the marginal and internal fit of 3D-printed permanent endocrowns

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different fit-indicating materials and preparation designs on the marginal and internal fit of 3D-printed permanent endocrowns. Materials and Methods: Maxillary right first molar typodont teeth were prepared according to different preparation designs and divided into two groups (n=80): Group 1-butt joint margin design and a 4 mm pulp chamber depth and Group 2-shoulder margin design and a 4 mm pulp chamber depth. The groups were scanned using a digital intraoral scanner. The 3D-printed single master dies and permanent endocrowns were fabricated. The groups were divided into two subgroups, such as endocrowns seated with Fit Checker and light-body fit-indicating materials. The two scans of the master die were superimposed using 3D analysis software. Multipoint measurements were performed on standard points in each group. The marginal, internal, pulp chamber and overall gap values were determined according to the means of the measurement points and compared between the groups. The statistical analysis was performed using a Two-Way ANOVA test. (p=0,05). Results: The Fit checker showed better marginal and internal fit than the light body (p
