TOWARDS CONTAINER-BASED SIMULATION: A CONCEPT FOR A DISTRIBUTED AND SCALABLE SIMULATION FRAMEWORK

Popular methodologies such as machine learning, simulation-based optimization, and data farming depend on simulation environments capable of handling scalable workloads and enabling access to distributed computational resources. Containerization and container orchestration offer promising approaches to establishing such a simulation execution platform. To this end, we propose a concept for a distributed, scalable, container-based simulation environment designed to meet the evolving requirements of diverse simulation and optimization techniques.

Abstract

Popular methodologies such as machine learning, simulation-based optimization, and data farming depend on simulation environments capable of handling scalable workloads and enabling access to distributed computational resources. Containerization and container orchestration offer promising approaches to establishing such a simulation execution platform. To this end, we propose a concept for a distributed, scalable, container-based simulation environment designed to meet the evolving requirements of diverse simulation and optimization techniques.
