The Teutonic Order: Variety of Conflicts
In the Middle Ages the Teutonic Order was a participant and sometimes a factor of various conflicts. There was a crusade to the Holy Land, the staying in Hungary, and the crusade to Prussia. The article attaches priority to these conflicts. At the same time, it deals with some conflicts inside the Order determined with its dual nature being both a religious and chivalric order. However, the duality contributed to overcoming the conflicts and creating the ability to have its own place during its more than eight-hundred-year history.
