Long-haul transmission of a 4096-ary optical eigenvalue-modulated signal
Optical eigenvalue communication is a promising technology to overcome the Kerr nonlinearity limit in optical fiber communications. This paper reports our recent studies on optical eigenvalue communication: a design of hyper-multilevel eigenvalue modulation using the on-off states of multieigenvalue and long-haul transmission of a 4096-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal using a neural network-based demodulator and soft-decision forward error correction (SD-FEC).
