Glass engraving with high power UV short nanosecond pulses delivered by hollow-core fiber

In this paper, we will present for the first time experiments in glass engraving using high peak power UV nanosecond pulses delivered through a hollow-core fiber optimized for UV beam delivery. After presenting characterization of the UV beam at the fiber output, we will show glass engraving results combining excellent beam quality, short nanosecond pulses and high repetition rate to achieve high quality process at high speed.

Abstract

In this paper, we will present for the first time experiments in glass engraving using high peak power UV nanosecond pulses delivered through a hollow-core fiber optimized for UV beam delivery. After presenting characterization of the UV beam at the fiber output, we will show glass engraving results combining excellent beam quality, short nanosecond pulses and high repetition rate to achieve high quality process at high speed.
