Determination of the strength of agglomerate by the mineralogical composition of ore and the chemical and granulometric composition of concentrate enriched from it by the boosting method

Methods of mathematical modeling of the sintering process are presented. A brief description of the preparation of the initial ores of the Kachkanar Mining and Enrichment Plant (KGOK) for the sintering process is considered. The agglomerate of the sinter plant of the KGOK is produced by sintering the concentrate obtained by enriching poor iron-vanadium ore using magnetic separation. The solution to the problem of mathematical modeling of the influence of the mineralogical composition of the initial ores on the cold (drum) strength of the sinter was performed for the first time. The assessment of the quality of the agglomerate using linear regression showed that the confidence coefficient R2 is 0.2. For the decision tree, this indicator was 0.3, and for gradient boosting 0.9. Based on this, the gradient boosting method was selected for modeling. When solving the problem, it was found that of all the elements of the mineralogical composition of the ore, olivine (Ol) and serpentine (Sp) have the greatest effect on the cold strength of the sinter. Of the elements of the chemical composition of the concentrate, TiO2, V2O5 and CaO have the most effect on the cold strength of the sinter. The conclusion of previous studies carried out at the KGOK sinter plant on the significant positive effect of the concentrate fraction ≤0.071 mm on the strength of the sinter is confirmed.
