Citrobacter freundii: An Uncommon Cause of Common Disease
Abstract A case of 49-year-old previously healthy female with no prior comorbidities presented with cervical lymphadenitis of 3 weeks duration followed by emergence of erythema nodosum. She didn’t give any history of contact with pets, recent hospitalization or trauma. Pus aspirate grew Citrobacter freundii and Enterobacter cloacae on culture media. It is therefore of prime importance to consider rare infections also as differentials for early diagnosis.
