Super-spectral-resolution Raman spectroscopy using angle-tuning of a Fabry-Pérot interferometer, with applications to diamond identification
Here we introduce a new method for achieving Super-Spectral-Resolution Raman Spectroscopy (SSR-RS), by angle-tuning a monolithically coated Fabry–Pérot (F-P) etalon that was incorporated into a micro-Raman setup. Applying SSR-RS to diamond, a 27x improvement in resolution was observed, and a Raman shift of 1331.3 cm⁻1 could be precisely determined. Our work suggests that SSR-RS can be applied to improve the resolution and precision of Raman instrumentation and lower the cost of obtaining high-resolution Raman spectroscopic capabilities.
