Innovation in Assistive Technology: Revolutionizing Mobility and Promoting Independence in Inclusive Education under NEP 2020

As the world has made advancements in technology and artificial intelligence, so necessary changes need to be made in the education sector. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 gives a framework for inclusive education thus providing equal access to all kinds of individuals irrespective of their caste, creed, gender, disability etc. As technology is a boon and with its advancement, many assistive technological tools have been invented, creating a revolution in the educational sector. Through the usage of these advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Brain Computer Interface (BCI) many innovative solutions can provide numerous opportunities to persons with disabilities leading to their active participation in education. But there are challenges of infrastructure gaps and digital inaccessibility that prevent implementation. This paper identifies these challenges and proposes solutions to bridge these divides and helps in fulfilling the ambitious vision of NEP 2020.
