Prácticas educativas orientadas hacia una cultura de paz

There is a prevailing need for a new paradigm based on collaboration and unity that leads to adopting practices and values that contribute to the construction of a culture of peace. Education is the most immediate way to achieve this. This work reviews recent studies on educational practices that promote actions of peace and solidarity, their contributions, and reflections on routes of action for the co-creation of educational environments that promote a culture of peace. We propose the establishment of an intervention model called “Escuelas Embajadoras de Paz” that arises from the initiative of Noemi Paymal, Nelly Chavarría and their collaborators, which is currently being implemented in two schools in the state of Yucatán. Finally, we share some experiences lived during the implementation of the educational practices suggested in the model, the scope and reflections that arise from them. Keywords: Peace culture; peace education; educational practices.
