The Impact of Job Adaptation onOrganizational Performance in HospitalsOperating in Madaba Governorate

This study aimed to identify the impact of job adaptation on organizational performancein hospitals operating in Madaba Governorate. The study population consisted of all employees inMadaba government hospitals, numbering (798) employees, according to the reports of theJordanian Ministry of Health for the year 2023. A simple random sample of (260) employees wasselected from hospitals operating in Madaba, based on statistically representative samplesaccording to the Morgan equation (Krejcie, & Morgan, 1970). (300) questionnaires weredistributed to hospital employees, and (260) valid questionnaires were returned and their responseswere fully analyzed. The results of this study indicated a high degree of job adaptation amongemployees in the studied hospitals and that there is a clear high impact of job adaptation onorganizational performance. The results of the study also showed that the relative importance of thedimensions of the independent variable (job adaptation) generally obtained a high degree with anarithmetic mean of (3.80). It is worth noting that adaptation to service recipients received thehighest score with an arithmetic mean of 3.92 and high relative importance, followed by adaptationto coworkers with an arithmetic mean of 3.90 and high relative importance, followed by adaptationto supervisors and managers with an arithmetic mean of 3.78 and high relative importance. Incontrast, adaptation to the work environment received the lowest score with an arithmetic mean of3.61 and medium relative importance. The study recommends that hospitals operating in MadabaGovernorate continue to give priority to enhancing job adaptation among their employees byimplementing appropriate administrative plans and strategies, and establishing evaluationmechanisms to assess employees’ ability to adapt to the work environment and its impact onorganizational performance using qualitative and quantitative indicators.
