Artificial Intelligence in Court — One Instance: On the Way to the Development of Digital Justice

The introduction of artificial intelligence into the system of domestic justice entails a revision of the approach to the institutional hierarchy of the judiciary. The distribution of competence between different courts is predetermined by many factors, including the ability of higher instances to eliminate the shortcomings of judicial acts issued by lower instances. The presented study evaluates possible technological models of judicial artificial intelligence (judicial-AI) depending on the information used and the person administering its work. The corresponding areas of application of artificial intelligence in justice are proposed (order proceedings, indexation of awarded funds, reversal of the execution of a judicial act, etc.), as well as the possibility of appealing against judicial acts adopted by AI. Special attention is paid to the technological solutions necessary for the correct operation of artificial intelligence.
