Purification of wastewater from heavy elements
The research involves a purification procedure aimed at addressing heavy inorganic elements noted for their environmental risks. Specifically, the study focused on lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) within aqueous solutions, evaluating their adsorption onto various substrates such as clay and activated charcoal. Factors investigated included adsorption percentages, alongside the impacts of temperature, pH levels, and particle dimensions on the adsorption process. Results indicated that optimal conditions were achieved at pH 5 with an adsorbent particle size of 500 micrometers, yielding adsorption percentages ranging from 81% to 93%.
