Luminous Child, and: Bells

Abstract: “Luminous Child”: a poem that tries to encourage my sister as I remember that the village children we were – laughing, longing, surrounded by the great forest – still reside within us. “Bells”: my mother sometimes cuts my hair, and as she does so, I reflect on her stories and a memorably difficult part of her childhood in the USSR.
