Grief-Induced Sleep Disturbance: A Case Study on Psychological and behavioral Impact Following Bereavement
Sleep disturbances, including difficulties in initiating and maintaining sleep, are common psychological and behavioral responses to stress and grief. This case study examines the sleep disturbances experienced by Mrs. Yumna, a 42-year-old woman, following the death of her sister. The study explores the psychological and emotional impact of bereavement on sleep patterns and highlights the importance of counseling and emotional support in managing grief related sleep disturbances. The findings suggest that grief can significantly disrupt sleep and that therapeutic interventions, such as counseling, are essential for helping individuals cope with loss and restore healthy sleep patterns. This paper also delves into the broader implications of grief on mental health, the role of social support, and the potential long-term effects of untreated sleep disturbances.
