Role of AI in Modern Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing education by enhancing learning experiences, improving administrative efficiency, and increasing accessibility. This study examines AI’s role in modern education, focusing on its benefits, challenges, and future implications. Special emphasis is placed on the Indian education system, where AI can help bridge the urban-rural divide. This research aims to evaluate AI’s impact on students, teachers, and institutions, addressing its advantages, limitations, and ethical concerns. It also explores AI’s effects on mental and physical health, national education policies, and environmental sustainability. A descriptive research design was used, integrating primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through surveys and interviews with students, teachers, and administrators, while secondary data was sourced from academic literature, reports, and case studies. A mixed-method approach was used, combining quantitative statistical analysis and qualitative thematic analysis. AI enables personalized learning, real-time feedback, and accessibility for students with disabilities while streamlining administrative processes. However, challenges include data privacy risks, algorithmic bias, over-reliance on technology, and the digital divide in rural areas. Additionally, excessive AI use may affect students' mental well-being and physical health due to increased screen time and reduced social interaction. Educational institutions must integrate AI responsibly, ensuring teacher training, ethical AI use, and equitable access to technology. AI should complement traditional teaching, not replace educators. Governments should prioritize policy development, AI-driven education funding, and rural accessibility to bridge educational disparities. In conclusion, AI has the potential to transform education, provided its adoption is balanced, inclusive, and ethically guided. The study recommends limited AI dependence to preserve human interaction and promote sustainable learning
