Research on the influence of the skin manufacturing shape tolerance of civil aircraft on static pressure measurement
Abstract The manufacturing shape tolerance of the skin near the atmospheric data sensors of a civil aircraft has a significant impact on the pressure measurement performance of those sensors, which is of great importance for RVSM certification. The geometric errors of the skin manufacturing profile mainly come from waviness and step differences. This study uses the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to investigate the influence of skin waviness and step difference on the pressure measurement of embedded static pressure sensors. This work verifies the accuracy of CFD calculations through flat plate-based wind tunnel tests. The study then discusses the influence of waviness position on the pressure measurement of the static pressure sensor. This study will provide reliability basis and CFD calculation accuracy data for the CFD method used in RVSM certification and establish the relationship between waviness position and the pressure measurement of the static pressure sensors, providing a solid basis for RVSM certification.
