Observation of ultraflat bands in gapped moiré metamaterials

The authors propose here a universal mechanism for ultraflat bands in moir\'e structures and experimentally validate it in acoustic metamaterials. Unlike magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene, these bands form over a broad range of twist angles, advancing moir\'e physics across diverse systems.

Abstract

The authors propose here a universal mechanism for ultraflat bands in moir\'e structures and experimentally validate it in acoustic metamaterials. Unlike magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene, these bands form over a broad range of twist angles, advancing moir\'e physics across diverse systems.
