Finite element simulation study on cold spray aluminum alloy particle deposition

Abstract In this paper, the research status of cold spraying technology at home and abroad is reviewed, focusing on the mechanism of particle deposition bonding with substrate and the key factors affecting particle deposition. The application process of cold spraying technology in the emergency repair helicopter body structure was simulated by constructing the microscopic model of particle and substrate and using ABAQUS CAE software. The research content not only covers the establishment of a finite element numerical simulation model of particle deposition when the helicopter body structure is repaired by the cold spraying method but also analyzes the simulation results of particle impact on the substrate in detail. On this basis, the effects of particle size and incidence angle on deposition characteristics are further discussed. Finally, the conclusion of this study is that the deposition behavior of particles on the body surface during cold spraying is simulated by simulation software. The important influence of particle size and incident angle on deposition characteristics is successfully revealed, which provides strong theoretical support for the practical application of cold spraying technology in the field of helicopter emergency repair.
