Effect of flight velocity of warhead on the evolution characteristic of fragment cluster
Abstract Aiming at the metal-cased munition, it is of great theoretical significance and military value to investigate the influence of flight velocity of warhead on the temporal-spatial evolution characteristic of fragment power field. First, a full-time numerical simulation of the warhead with pre-fragmentation is conducted based on the fragmentation power algorithm. Then, the change law of fragmentation velocity along the axis, the flight trajectory, and the landing position of fragmentation are analyzed. The result indicates that the flight velocity of the warhead causes an increase in the velocity of fragmentation near the head shell. Compared to the flight velocity of 200 m/s, when the flight velocity is 400 m/s, 600 m/s, and 800 m/s, the average velocity of fragmentation increases by 1.60%, 4.24%, and 7.88%, respectively. The landing points of fragmentation are distributed in a circular shape, and there is no fragmentation in the central region. As the flight velocity increases, the concentrated circular belt of fragmentation distribution becomes narrower.
