On-chip comb light source integration in silicon photonics
This talk presents our recent progress in integrated silicon photonics, with a particular emphasis on the integration of on-chip comb light sources. We highlight the advantages and challenges of different approaches, focusing specifically on heterogeneous quantum dot mode-locked lasers. These devices demonstrate exceptional potential for scalability, performance, and efficiency, making them a promising solution for fully integrated photonic systems. Additionally, we briefly discuss transformative applications in optical communications, spectroscopy, and optical computing, underscoring the broad impact and versatility of optical frequency combs.
