Innovative laser direct joining of PEEK-CFRP and titanium alloy for net zero emissions
It is well known that multi-materials for saving weight are important to achieve net zero emissions. Our innovative laser direct joining method is effective for joining dissimilar materials such as difficult-to-join composite materials and light metals. However, its joining mechanism and properties have not been clarified so far. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to clarify the joining mechanism, peeling process, and dominant factors of the joint through cutting-edge observation and numerical analysis, and to realize joint strength which is innovatively improved by joining temperature of the surface modification specimen, superior durability and weather resistance.
