Computation analyses of collagen fibril/fiber structure in ovarian cancer
Many human diseases including cancers and fibroses have significant changes in the collagen architecture. To better understand these alterations, we developed a rigorous wavelength dependent computational model of 3D quasi-phasematching in collagen tissues. We performed computational simulations over a large parameter space of fibril size and spacing and polarity. We found that fibrils need to have anti parallel alignment for consistency with the measured emission directionality and that local density is more important than average fibril spacing. This approach allows us to place bounds on fibril architecture parameters by comparison with the wavelength dependent directional data.
