Tunable plasmon-induced transparency in graphene strip structure for multi-channel switching and slow light effect at terahertz frequency

Abstract A symmetric structure consisting of five sets of graphene strips is presented to obtain triple plasmon-induced transparency. The performances that are anayzed theoretically by using the coupled mode theory (CMT), are consistent with the outcomes from the finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulations. The dynamic regulation of the transmission spectrum by graphene Fermi level manipulation is investigated. With the modulation depth of up to 98% multi-channel switching effect is also achieved. Besides, the slow light effect is further explored, and the maximum numerical value of group index is up to 2294. Overall, the suggested structure shows promise in the optical switching and slow light areas.
