Computationally enhanced multimodal imaging for quantitative analysis of living organisms
Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have revolutionized computational imaging, enabling comprehensive analysis of living organisms. Quantitative phase imaging (QPI) provides label-free, nanoscale-sensitive measurements of living specimens, serving as valuable training data for neural networks. Utilizing QPI data enhances AI performance, yielding biologically relevant insights. This talk covers recent computational algorithms and QPI hardware developments, including Wolf phase tomography for high-throughput refractive index retrieval and artificial confocal microscopy for three-dimensional spheroid and organoid analysis. Additionally, an AI health assessment tool for living embryos, and the integration of quantitative phase and multiphoton microscopy for live animal studies will be discussed.
