Lens-free photonic integrated circuit for sub-diffraction resolution and large field-of-view fluorescence imaging
Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy has revolutionized biology but suffers from low throughput due to a limited field-of-view. We present a fully lens-free imaging system on a chip, integrating an optical filter, an image sensor, and a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) providing sparse optical lattice illumination. This setup maintains high resolution across a wide field-of-view without the need for lenses. Our experimental data demonstrates the generation and scanning of the sparse optical lattice, filter performance, and effective image reconstruction. We believe our high-throughput technology can drive significant progress in fields such as genomics and proteomics.
